Hi, I’m Kaitlyn…

I’m a therapist who specialises in helping children and teenagers get through the ups and downs of growing up. I’ve been working in family welfare and children’s mental health for seven years. While most of my clients have experienced the effects of developmental trauma I work with all kinds of challenges that young people and parents/caregivers come with.

I studied in Australia where I obtained a Masters Degree in Counselling before moving to the UK. I'm a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), which means I practice to the highest ethical and professional standards.

Sessions grounded in science, delivered with kindness, curiosity and humour.

If your child comes along to sessions with me they could look different to how you might have seen a therapist on TV. We can do craft, play games, do some funny dances, or they could beat me at Uno! Each session is tailored to the needs of my clients using a range of evidence based tools and approaches to best meet the presenting need.

I take a primarily relational approach and believe that therapy comes through a trusted therapeutic relationship. The flow and progress of our time together will be guided by the client.

I’d love to hear from you and see how we can help you and your young person!

What might bring people to see me

People come to therapy for so many different reasons. You don’t need to have a crisis on your hands, a diagnosis or even a solid grasp on what exactly might be wrong. Just a sense that you want something to change for your child or young person

Some of the things I can help with…

anxiety and worries

experiences of trauma

care experienced

anger

coping with grief

identity and sense of self

emotional dysregulation

academic stress

use of self-harming

depression and low mood

and many more…
